Captain's Cabin

Step into Captain's Cabin, located at 80 N Lindsay St in Dundee, and you’ll immediately sense that this isn’t your average pub-it’s a full-blown experience. From live music and quiz nights to an ever-flowing lineup of cocktails and karaoke, this is the kind of place that knows how to keep the good times rolling.

Whether you're flying solo or gathering with mates, Captain's Cabin sets the scene just right. The moment you walk in, there’s a buzz in the air-something between a classic British pub and an entertainment hub. The venue is fully equipped with wheelchair-accessible entrances, seating, and toilets, making it a welcoming spot for a broad range of guests. While there’s no designated accessible car park, its central location puts it within easy reach for most.

The drinks menu alone is reason enough to drop anchor here. Fans of spirits, wine, and draughts will feel right at home, but it’s the cocktail selection that deserves a special shoutout. The Sunrise Mocktail is a refreshing non-alcoholic favorite, and for those looking to kick it up a notch, the Jäger Bomb never misses the party mark. Beer lovers will appreciate the impressive selection of pints available on tap-whether you're into craft brews or just after a cold lager with friends, Captain's Cabin delivers on all fronts.

But it’s not all about drinks here. The food menu leans toward comfort with a creative twist. Take the Honey Chicken Thighs, for example. They’re sticky, savoury, and just the right level of indulgent-perfect for soaking up a pint or two. And while the menu isn’t extensive, what’s on offer hits the spot when you’re in the mood for hearty pub fare that’s done well.

Entertainment is where Captain's Cabin truly sails ahead. There’s live music that ranges from acoustic sets to full-on performances, a lively quiz night that brings the community together, and a stage that’s often taken over by karaoke warriors belting out everything from ABBA to Arctic Monkeys. If you’re more into passive entertainment, the TVs make this a solid venue for catching sports matches with a drink in hand.

And if you're up for something different, there’s even dancing and bar games to keep your night moving. The vibe shifts effortlessly from laid-back early evenings to energetic late-night sessions. The place transforms based on the crowd and the night, making every visit feel fresh but familiar.

Seating is ample and well-laid out-ideal for both groups and solo diners. While there’s no takeaway or delivery service, this is very much a dine-in and stay-awhile type of venue. Add in a bit of fresh air on their outdoor patio, and you’ve got all the ingredients for a satisfying social hangout.

Whether you're hunting for a great pint, a solid pub meal, or just a vibrant space to unwind, Captain's Cabin offers the full package. It’s a place where locals mingle with newcomers, and where there’s always something happening-be it a new band on stage, a pub quiz brewing, or a dancefloor heating up. It doesn’t try too hard, and that’s exactly what makes it work.

Really chill place! Tuesdays are wonderful for students with £1 vodka + mixer. Me and my bestie come here every week and the staff is nice and the bouncer is always a great laugh.

Great place, good music. Russell from the bar is an okay guy, plays the field a little much and too hard, quite sad to watch, weekend offender. But always up for a good time (in Kandy)
